New handlebar grips and I got the brake hooked up. It's done and it rides like a dream. I didn't do anything with the bent fork. It rides straight so maybe someday the next owner can tackle that issue if they choose to. Thanks to all for the encouragement, and the nice comments. It really helps when you're in unfamiliar territory.
Take the advice from all the experienced minds on this site, and just clean it up nicely, new grease and bearings and ride and enjoy it. I took their advice, except for painting the light, and I'm very glad I did. Yours looks just my uncle's. Get it rolling, it's a hoot to ride. Good luck!
