On Training Wheels
Greetings Folks,

I'm new here, so I hope I'm posting this in the right thread. I have an old Western Flyer that I got from an old gentleman over 30 years ago. I'd like to know what year it is, what its value might be, and if it's worth restoring. It's missing the tank/light. As far as I can tell, that's it. Here is a picture. It's far from perfect, but does ride and brake well. Any information or advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Clean it up, shine it up, and ride it....not much resale value....

If you’re not going to do anything with it then don’t spend any money or time on it. Simply list it for sale locally and move it along.

Wore out three sets of tires already!
That is the same cool, Murray-built frame that was used on Sears' Spaceliners. First pic is a real sparkly example of a Spaceliner. The second pic is my rat rod of a rusty hulk. Have fun!

It all depends on the buyer. My personal favorite bicycle is the Murray Spaceliner and the Murray Eliminator. If I happened to come across this bike I would have a hard time spending a stupid amount of money to take it home. I tend to run past the Schwinn’s if I see a double top bar bike. The Spaceliner or any of the other bikes with the same style frame are the cream of the crop for me. I can’t tell you what it’s worth but I know that I wish I had it.

Nice bicycle. I bought two Western Flyer Galaxie Flyer bicycles recently and am working to build one original bike out of the two. You will see that the added bars mimic a Schwinn truss style frame but thebase drone is what you have and Sears Spaceliner. I wanted a Spaceliner or your version but am now headed this direction. New whitewalls are going on and the seat will be reupholstered soon. Here are photos.
