This one is kinda throwing me off a bit as far as dating. The serial is C05091 and its hard to tell from the pic he sent me but it looks like the "CW" is there as well. I was thinking '52 but teh rack looks later? Thooughts? V/r Shawn

I believe that's a 1947 off the top of my head. Definitely 49 or older

I'm busy trying to nail down some time frames cause stuff currently writtin is not put into 1 piece but.. there's an easy prewar clue on drop out. basic simple trick to quickly identify pre-war, is that hanging ear on drop-outs. and it aint on that bike. .

And after that it gets fuzzy for 3 other drop-out types from estimated 42 through 50..

Pre-war 38-41 have an extra ear hanging down. hole for drop stand and no holes for rack and chain guard. Big toes have no conformation time frames. [grin]

aprox 42-45, no ear and no guard and carrier rack holes:

Things get fuzzy for a while but 50's, and potentially after 51----55-6, ya got chain guard oval hole, and a U shaped cut out for carrier rack. this is date stamped 53.

There's a mystery in-between-er that's got 1 round for rack and 1 oval for chain guard, verses U shape cut out.. possibly 48-9, not sure, yet! Cept for sure, it is before the U cut out type above.
