Finally riding a big boys bike
Ok, I am sure it is easier than I am making it. I am adding new rubber to a set of AS bottle cap pedals. One side has prongs that go into the rubber block. I have tried a hammer, using a drill for starter holes and a vice. No luck. Any suggestions are much appreciated.

Something like this and a short bolt to keep the pedal block & end plate aligned worked well for me.
 
No, tightening the nut isn’t enough to penetrate the rubber. The vice didnt work for me. I did take the prong bracket off and tightened it all down and worked fine. Thanks for the feedback
