I thought that “Y” meant 1937, but that would be quite-late for a double drop bar frame. Not sure if older designs like those would have made it into the 1936 & later Rollfast catalogs.

Not necessarily Hawthornes, but due to the manufacture(Snyder/Rollfast/DP Harris). Hawthorne is the badge Montgomery Wards sold their bikes under.
