Short Sunday ride in Astoria on the '37 Shelby. Another beautiful day in the PNW. 75 and calm, with almost nonexistent tourons.

My parents used to have a beach house near Cape Mears, I do miss summers on the northern Oregon coast.

Back a couple miles, up Newland to Tio Flacco's Taco Tuesday, with Fearless, called me "Crazy" lol.
36 miles; got the call back to work tomorrow = Vacation OVER.
It's OK, at least i get to RIDE!

@tripple3 hey Mark this whole challenge you made me and my response to it almost wish it hadn’t happened. All I wanted is to prove to you( and myself), that I could equal riding your 172 mi or possibly beat it. I would have never began riding cruisers this far if it weren’t for your inspiration. Your sole dedication is to riding the cruiser bike, mine is not, As long as I have our tandem and my wife enjoys riding it, plus I have geared bikes I’ll ride occasionally . Your have been riding cruisers for years and I just started riding them last couple years. I said I ride to impress myself but have to admit alittle approval from other riders that I’m a decent rider feels good.( and occasionally for me is needed).and if I’m honest why I did this in the first place. Although I was often skeptical of your high mileage posts, without your inspiration to ride far on a cruiser, I wouldn’t even have tried. So thanks for inspiring me! Finding or having a trail/road conducive to riding a cruiser a lot of miles is the key and fortunately I found it for me, with beauty as a bonus! I don’t want any title from you and just want to get up everyday and ride as far as I want to.( short or far). The fact that you acknowledged what I did was in the same league as your accomplishment is all I really wanted. Rick

I still think longest day riding; 06/21/2021 start before sunrise, past sunset, with 7 stops for snacks, was quite epic, Huntington Beach Ride @172+ miles.
The West headwind in my face, Kite surfers on the water, was hard one-way, 10 miles turn around and fly back, could quit and ride home any lap, but had "Daylight", and i wanted Marty's @cyclingday old record, he "Challenged" me to beat.
