Fighting with adjustments— and removing years of built up gunk— on the Huret derailleurs on my ‘63 Varsity Tourist

This 39 Elgin hadn't been more than around the block in the 30+ yrs I've owned it and probably many yrs before that with the rock hard chain treads ( it was like solid rubber tires ) so did a little work today and put a few miles on it.

Did some work on the 37 Princeton yesterday. Fitting some fenders and a springer on it. Need to find someone locally to cut some more threads on the steer tube today

I swapped out the handlebar on my Framed 29er to try something with less rise than the 28"x8" stock bar. I tried a Surly Sunrise cromoly bar at just under 32.5" wide & 3.5" rise to compensate for my apeishly long arms & 29" wagon wheels so my chest doesn't hit the cross bar while pumping the track.

Since the bar is black I had to get color coordinated OD grips. Found some from S&M that are a good match & feel great. They also have a shield to go with the military theme!
