Working on the king again! I hate seeing a lock with an empty hole…..

so I went to ace to see if they could help me out….. and ten minutes later walla….a Little shaving and grinding and it fits, it doesn’t work but that’s not what I was going for! Fits perfectly and tight so it won’t fall out and fits the bill!

done and installed! Much better, found a chrome and polishing place less than a half hour away from me and actually has a guy that specializes in vintage road bike and such polishing! Guess it might be worth the $250 for the frame fork struts and neck and couple other little bits….then I’d have them do the cranks and chainring also, their reviews are great and not too expensive! Here I go down the monark rabbit hole, guessing I need to find fenders and 24” wheels next!

Watch out!!! Some of those rabbit holes can go pretty deep into your pockets! Hahaha! Personally I like the wear that bike has on it! I’d leave it! Just my two cents

As I stare at it this afternoon and use mothers on it I’m kinda leaning towards what you’re saying….26” wheels make it bigger as I am taller and it’s a pretty fun rider as is….Bob U seat is a must have for it and I’ll have him build one for a king and thinking that will be it! Then back to the real bikes…🤣🤪😂😎

Nice bike. You have the wrong chain ring that chain ring is for a Flo-cycle. It uses a pie crust chain cover.
I’ve also seen it on original kings without the pie crust and they have the holes in them also, so I’m good with it!

My first really good trash day score in a while- a 1986 Nishiki International LD, for Large Diameter tubing. Interesting oversize double butted steel triangle, good quality Suntour components and it was really, really clean. Dusted it off, aired up the tires and took it for a spin. A longer than usual wheelbase mades for a more comfortable ride despite the road bike geometry. It should find a new home on craigslist.

I really enjoy working with WWII-Vietnam era military lights and spots. Lots of brass and copper plated fittings once the OD is removed. I haven't done the "can" yet, but this one will make a great headlight for the SC-X 50 once fittings are polished and "can" is primed and finished.
