I'd love to replicate an old school Harley racing sweater but I'm betting they won't touch anything that looks like a trademark infringement.
If you are doing a one off for yourself, it should be fine, it hand made and not mass production. As long as your not doing a run of them.
Also you'd be supporting a local business.
BTW I saw HD was making something like this now, but but all "imported"...
Expect Chenille about 12" by 4" near 120.00 which is reasonable from quotes I have gotten on some projects.
Also note the sweater are near 350.00 without anything art.
Guys if your are taking the time to make something like this consider some custom art or more obscure cool brands.
HD is not what it was anymore so you be calling out/back to something that is just an idea now... same for Indian Motorcycles.
I would sooner have an Excelsior jersey made. Maybe even Ranger or other extinct brands.
There is also this company that does Felted letters and some custom art.
We offer five styles of vintage inspired racing jerseys to customize with the text of your choice. The Original Hometown Jersey Raglan Sleeve, the Set In Sleeve, the Striped Sleeve, the Competition Stripe and the Solid Color Jersey. Our jerseys feature stitched on felt lettering and you'll make...
