What is your favorite part of the Classic and Antique bicycles hobby?

It's bikes illusions I recall
The thrill of acquiring junky rusty bikes and parts and somehow envisioning or merely imagining them as they might be refurbished and assembled some day (accomplishment, product realization, "things"), when I get around to implementing the big plans, and then setting them free - some day, after a ride or so.

I will tell you what is not - the racist and homophobic PMs sent from other Cabers.
I’ve gotten them, similar to the one posted the other day on the contentious sale ad.
Happy to share with the mods, but they seem to be ok with this type of behavior
as long as the perpetrator is “old school” and “goes way back” in the hobby. Shameful.

Eric ... I am very sorry you have experienced
some of the bullshi# tossed around by some
folks that have a bunch of dissatisfaction
with their own lives -- these poor souls do
not know what to do with the hate they have
for their own condition.

Many knowingly transfer their hate toward
others ...hoping their perception of their own
condition will improve ... and they might feel
better .. stronger.

Sad thing is ... much of their own negative per-
ception of themselves has roots in erroneous
thinking and negative ''name calling'' ... foisted
upon each and every one of these folks ... at an
earlier time -- by other needy yet somewhat self-
loathing Earth Dwellers.

Am not just stating an opinion here. Have observed
the behaviors of many, many junior high school kids ...
in my thirty-plus years in my classroom.

The Self-Loathing and Projection of Hate Cycle is real.

Avoid riding this Cycle, young man ... benefits no one.

Seeing a variation on a familiar relic for the first time ... be it
a badge .. a chainring .. or a pre-1933 frame / fork combo.

Someone's fresh presentation of things Davis-Built and / or
Miami-Built ''werks fer me''.

-the hunt
-the score
-rebuilding/cleaning
-riding them
-the people you meet(all types of ppl with all types of issues) but when you ride with them, the only thing that matters are bikes
-but one of my favorite parts, is finding/selling the right bike to the right person
