Finally riding a big boys bike
Hello y'all,

Unfortunately, I've had some unforeseen bills pop up and need to thin the herd a bit. I'm not asking for a value here, but I am curious about which of these bikes is worth more in the long run? First is a 1940-41 Westfield Built Harley Badged Special, and second is a teens Hawthorne Motobike with Fauber crank and Superior Saddle. Asking which is worth more once fully restored.

Thanks for your help...

Yes!
Thanks for posting, pics; welcome to theCABE.
Value is determined by perspective.
It costs more to get that 28" wheel moto bike Ridable, because of Wheels and tires.
Anything "Harley" is "Valuable" to a bunch of folks.
If you want to keep something to ride at "Events",
where folks like us show up to see more bikes, and meet "Bike" folk;
I would keep the Harley, just clean it up, get it ridable.
Post pics please.

Not much more to add here to what's already been said but I did want to mention that the Zeppelin style chain guard on the Harley is kind of interesting in that it has an inset circle in the stamping. You may want to look into that if it was specific to a certain model or not. I have not seen that variation before, normally it just has the longitudinal speed lines like the blue guard. Several manufacturers had models that came equipped with these guards, and also they were sold aftermarket.
