Ok let me attempt to make this easier..... how many actual bikes have we seen in person or photos that have NOT.... I repeat... NOT been collectorized exist in this configuration?? That's my point. Why would shelby go from the flat top fork with the straighter motorbike style truss rods with the under fork brace in 1936-38, to this round style truss rod most commonly seen on no nose bikes in actual existence.... for the year of 1937... then go back again in 1938 to the old motorbike style truss rods again for a year or two.... then back again to the round style?? In my opinion, the flat top fork with straighter truss rods was fazed out due to forks being bent.... how many forks have you seen folded back with the flat top fork? Myself... a lot. So my educated guess was the round top fork was invented as an improvement because it's harder to bend something with and arc in it right there than something with a 90degree angle correct??? Zero strength. It twists easily.

As far as the headlight goes..... how can you produce a bike in 1937 with a headlight that doesn't even seem to exist until 1939 or 40??? They didn't go into the future and graba few to test out and sell?? So..... until an actual Patent is provided of the S torpedo..... my date still stands.

I'm not sure how that makes anything easier? An ad from 1937 shows a side stand and that fork/truss rods. To me that is simple and says the OPs bike is a legit '37. That bike has not been "collectorized". Until you can explain how parts that don't exist show up in a 1937 ad your arguments simply don't hold water.

You obviously didn't read... but ok??? I didn't state HIS was collectorized, I stated others.... and once again.... where did that light come from? What year? Same statement Leon Dixon stated....

Bump a good discussion regarding the "Peerless" badge. Not really another thread on this. Here is the early Ad posted by @Mercian two pages back showing a Davis #3 chainring.

Another similar Davis product selling at Sears Roebuck, the "Master". Master what?😄

Sears Roebuck in 1914 was selling the Peerless Badge....so @Archie Sturmer, perhaps the Peerless Badge rights came to Shelby Cycle Co from the Davis demise? Or did Sears Roebuck own the rights? At least through 1937, Shelby was clearly using it on their frames.
