Riding a '38 Autocycle Deluxe
I have a buddy who has had 2 bikes stolen when he was going in the store for just a minute. I think leaving bikes out for the homeless to steal was very kind of him. the last one had a big fat chain and lock stolen with it because he did not use it.
back in the day once in a while I needed to go in a 7-11 for refreshments while riding. I would put the bike in high gear and take the chain off the gear just enough so if someone got on it and tried to ride off the chain would fall off. that was when I was young and fit and could stop someone who tried to take it.
last time I locked my bike somewhere was about 5 years ago. I went back after about 5 minutes as I could not enjoy myself with the bike I bought in 1984 a sitting duck for evildoers.
