Wood Rim ID?

I bought this rim at an antique shop yesterday. Can anyone tell me who made it or what year it would be from? It’s outer diameter is 20 3/4” and it’s in excellent condition. There appears to be some numbers (maybe a date or serial number?) as seen in the photos. Also, looks like a name (something with LOCK in the middle?). I’m new to vintage bikes and would appreciate any info. Thanks.

K & C wood rim...... famous for their Joint construction. Guessing the numbers relate to date of manufacture. In nice shape for its age and you can still see the pinstripes - cool!

Lots of information on K & C throughout this thread

Thanks for the great info! Looks like the rim is stamped "K & C LOCKRIM"

I'm happy to see they were used by Iver Johnson too as I just acquired my first vintage bike, a pre-1910 Iver.

I searched through that thread before but somehow missed it. I'm looking forward to rereading it tonight.

Apologies.... as the K & C info is all over the tread rather than one section - part of the problem of not being able to update sections when information is found. I'll post some of the info below. Hope this is of assistance.

1917 they had a large fire that injured a fireman.

Photos of how the rims were packed - note the finish is similar to yours in this lot. ( Photos below supplied by Cabe member Ivrjhnsn )
