Wright Saddle

I'm a newby to this fantastic forum so not sure if this has been discussed before. I have a 1930ish Wright saddle thats in desperate need of a new leather seat, the leather is brittle with age and torn in a number of spots.The springs and the seat frame are in excellent condition. Is there any value to a seat like this? And if so would it detract from its value if I had it restored with new leather?

Finally took pictures

of the Wright saddle I was asking about. Is the leather repairable? Is it better to leave as is? I read in another post these saddles can have some value attached to them, not that I want to sell it though. Any opinions on saddle repairs are appreciated.
