Year bike was built

I am doing this for a friend who doesn't have a computer. He just purchased a Hawthorne bike in original condition. The serial # isE379258 and would like to know the year of the bike and any other information he can find about the bike. What would be the approximate value range of this bike?

Pictures would be the best way to find out what you have. No serial number chart exists for Hawthorne bikes. They were made by different manufactures for Wards stores. Marc
