I purchased this zenith Rollfast and would like to know more information about it, time period, rarity, condition and maybe value. I have an idea of keeping it all original but also putting a 80cc motor on it. Thanks for everyone's knowledge.
Looks like a circa 1956 or later "middleweight" bike due to the "Yoke" at the seat post cluster, (versus earlier triangle).
Built by the Snyder Mfg. probably Little Falls NY, for D.P. Harris NY (wholesale), but badged as "Zenith" for the Duluth Marshall-Wells department stores (retail).
"The Coast-to-Coast Stores (based in Minneapolis, Minnesota) bought the Duluth Division of Marshall-Wells-Kelley-How-Thomson Co. in 1958, which ended the Duluth firm's operation".
A serial number starting with a 65SN (or similar) may be on the bottom of crank bracket.
A 1956 catalog.
Nice condition, may only need a bit of soap and water.
No tank, probably sold without one, (no tank-strap wear marks on frame).
The rear rack just looks older to me, and of a heavier-weight period/style; (it appears to have been painted).
The frame may accommodate 2.125" balloon tires, but the M/W fenders could be a problematic fit.
The front basket could be an add-on too, and they are sometimes convenient.
