I have abused a few Kona's over the years including an 97 Ku, a 98 King Kikapu, and a 2001 Stinky Primo. All fun rides. The Ku was just light and fast. The King Kikapu was my first full Sus. and I managed to snap the frame after a year, the Stinky Primo at 38 lbs was great for rides less than 2 hours. Then it got heavy.

Gave up the tanker Primo for something a little lighter and more my speed.

Funny, I have way fewer pics of my modern bikes than my vintage rides:

After a decade, Sold the Ku off to someone in the UK and used the money to parlay into building up this old steel bike with quasi modern parts:

I had a Manomano pass through the shop last week. Great looking bikes, was tempted to keep it.

Funny just found my first Kona about 2 weeks ago in Colorado, loved it enough to ship it home.. nice, nice, bike.. but going to flip her as I don't have much use for a MTB in NYC. That said I don't think this bike was ridden much. I mean just about pristine.. lucky me.
