Wore out three sets of tires already!
I'm restoring a 1940s Ice Cream Trike that had a damaged 24 inch rim. The original front hubs have 10 gauge spokes which use 245 mm spokes in a cross 4 pattern.

My questions for my fellow Cabers are:

Does anyone make 245 MM 10 gauge spokes?

Could I use 11 gauge spokes instead for the 10 gauge front hubs? The replacement rims I have found are 11 gauge rims. Would the slight play cause any damage to the hubs?

I can find 10 Gauge Stainless steel spokes for 26 inch rims. Does anyone cut down and re-thread 10 gauge spokes? Does anyone make a 10 gauge threading die? This way I could thread them myself.

Thanks in advance!

I've used 12g on 11g hubs with no problems. As long as the spoke head is fat enough to not pull thru the hub, should be fine.

Once the spokes are tight, tensioned and true, they won't really move around.

Also, being the front wheel, it won't get torqued like a rear wheel from pedaling, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Never saw a 10g bicycle hub before.
