Riding a '38 Autocycle Deluxe
1948 Postwar Schwinn DX frame that someone spent the $ on chrome plating, the quality of the plating is
soso, not the best but hey, someone plated an entire frame and that must have cost a fortune!
Struts etc are original chrome, fork and guard also appear to be rechromed. Crank and sprocket are original plating.
Badge "The World" almost looks gold plated, but I'm guessing just highly polished brass. Only issues to note,
the guard was a poor candidate to rechrome as it has dings and dents, also the rear Chainguard frame
tab is gone but the clamp in that location does the job nicely.
Full size E serial 1948 26" DX project to build, ride and enjoy!
I also have chrome plated DX fenders with a Delta Torpedo light available for extra cost, will roll out
the dings and get pix posted, also a prewar DX Tank (no paint) that came with the unit I would offer up
in a sales post...so check back on that tomorrow.
