Raleigh Super Course

Was this a decent bike? Anyone know how to date them?

Yes - the Super Course was a decent road bike in the middle of the Raleigh range. It sat a level above the basic 10 speeds like the Record and the Grand Prix. It was the entry level "serious" road bike for Raleigh. The main frame triangle was Reynolds 531 straight gauge. It was below the Competition, International, and Professional. Looks like it has a nice set of Bluemels fenders too. Good bike.

As far as dating it, check the serial number and take a look at one of the S/N guides online, Sheldon brown for instance. The Olympic head badge puts it around 1968 to 70.

Very nicely setup. The Bluemels fenders and handlebar mounted water bottle cage are exceptionally fine.

I'd take a close look at that stem.
It looks too high, and one that likes to crack around the wedge.
I suggest pulling, inspecting then reinserting making sure a safe amount is inserted into the steerer.
