Sorry, no shipping, pick it up from me in San Jose, CA. Look at photos, original paint and screens. DA stamped frame. Forks have a nice 4 + 5 date stamped on them so most likely original to the frame. Has some nicks and scratches on paint but in what I would consider above average to average condition for a 1965 bike, of course it helped as it is a girls bikes in general and most I get are in much better shape than the same age boys bikes. Paint still has a nice shine to it, chrome on guard also looks good. The painted parts on these early Stingrays are generally in my opinion the toughest parts to find if you want them with the original paint. The original seats, bars, wheels, high loops most of the other parts are the same as on the other 1965 Stingrays, boys and girls. I have found the toughest parts and sometimes the last parts to find when trying to complete a bike to original condition are the color parts, parts that are specific to not just one model bike but only one color such as found on frames, forks, tanks, guards. Seats on the 1965 Slik Chiks are the same as the 65 Deluxe and Super Deluxe Stingrays, it is not until the Stingray seats became having seat colors specific to each bike color, try finding an original 1968 Pea or Lemon Peeler seat in fair or better condition, one year seats. Whenever I see an original Super Deluxe Stingray for sale I always say that I would pay well more for just the frame and guard, than I would for all the rest of the bike. Now I know original 20" springers are through the roof price wise, as well as seats, high loops, correct dated tires which personally I personally do not put as high a premium as a lot of people as tires on bikes and cars were meant to be replaced if ridden/driven. But all these parts are used on all the SD's, most on the other Stingrays of that same year it is the two specific color/painted items that are so tough to find. Only difference on a new lime or red Superdeluxe with similar frame dates/build dates if can call it that are the chainguard and the frame, that is it, all the other parts are the same for these bikes with similar dates, color/paint is the only difference. When for example I find a beautiful all original Super deluxe missing a springer no worries, if there is not one on Ebay or some other site for sale, one will turn up in a month or two, may cost an arm and a leg, but they come up for sale, like the white tufted seats and high loops. Give me a nice Super D with original paint and screen-decal frame and guard and one can find the parts to complete the rest of the bike, it will be expensive but those parts are out there for sale, again with exception of correct dated tires perhaps which are tough and a bit tricky to find. However find all the parts necessary for a Superdeluxe except the original paint frame and guards with original screen, in my opinion that is more difficult to build out especially if you are looking for one specific color.
Sorry, kind of got off track here quite a bit but kind of like what I just wrote so I will leave it. No need to post what the heck does all the above have to do with what is for sale here like I am sure some of you may think about doing, just stop reading it, simple as that. Was in the hospital for 5 nights late November and first day today I have been at home felling somewhat better with some energy, could be some new meds/probably the new meds. Anyway what is shown here is $500 dollars, no shipping sorry. Pick up in San Jose, CA. Mike.
