Wore out three sets of tires already!
Sorry, no shipping. Local pick up in San Jose Calif only. Last week Reggie Jackson and I met for lunch and I was able to convince him to sell me another one of his nice Krate Bikes, along with a few other Stingrays. Reggie has said that the real nice bikes in his collection, especially the Krate bikes do really well at Barrett Jackson and Meecum Auctions along with his muscle cars of course and he was going to keep some himself and sell some others at auction later this year. We went through his bikes and talked about which ones he was going to keep, and which would be best for auctions perhaps later this summer. This Manta Ray is a nice bike but was one of the rougher bikes in his collection that he said would probably not be a good auction bike, which made sense to me. So I purchased this bike from him along with a few others.
The serial # is a GH, so a July 1972 bike. This bike looks to have been a yellow disc brake Manta Ray that someone decided to try to paint/make into a Silver Mist Manta. They did make that color Manta Ray bike, but for one year only 1971 like the Grey Ghost which is the same color. The disc brake is correct for a 1972 bike as this one is, but not the current color as this is a 1972 bike. Paint job is fair at best, wheels are stamped and show well, good fenders, chrome is good, seat pan bottom has been painted black but seems very solid and is actually quite comfortable. Bike rides, stops, and shifts well. Really a nice riding bike that shows well except for the paint and paint job. Reggie said he has ridden that bike around town on several occasions. I think this bike would be nice to paint whatever color you like, recover the seat, put on some decals and off you go. The rear tire is not a slik, not the correct pedals, but almost all original parts.

Why would you convince a great guy like Reggie to sell you a bike just to go and flip it on this site?? I’ve met him a few times ( through a friend who paints/pinstripes some of his cars) and he’s been genuinely nice to me, I wouldn’t do that unless I planned on keeping the bike. :-(

The first thing I told Reggie when I met him is that I am an old Horse Trader and that I buy and sell bikes, and keep some of the nice ones in my collection which is how I pay for my hobby. Secondly, Reggie can and will not be convinced of doing anything he does not want to do as he is very strong willed. I have some Reggie bikes in my collection that I will most likely keep. Reggie has a bit of an old horse trader in him as well I think. I even tell him how much I will most likely get for the bikes which he finds very interesting. You are right, Reggie is a great guy, and I think we are both genuinely nice to each other, why would I do what to him??? I think Reggie really enjoys negotiating back and forth on price. The last deal I made with Reggie for a few bikes, I was stuck on $4200, Reggie was stuck on $4500. Then he said "make it 44, do you know why". I said of course you wore that number and we shook hands on that deal at $4400. Attached is a photo of Reggie in the back of my van helping me load some bikes. I do not know what reason your post has except to express you do not like how I conduct my business. I see a lot of things on this site I do not like, but unless my response is helping a CABER in any way, I say nothing. I do not see what your post is doing anything except to say you are unhappy with what I am doing, have I done anything to offend you personally, if so I would like to know what. Reggie is going to be 79 next week, you might want to send him a birthday card.
