Schwinn right hand Brake lever w/o bar bracket(?) - what did this go to

I found three of these levers in a drawer but without the part that clamps it to the handlebar. Not a Schwinn guy, so can you folk tell me what they go to... and did that only have a right brake lever? Also in the drawer, a few of the cable catchers that appear to be riveted on to this example.

Those are for the B-6 / Phantoms with front and rear drum brakes I believe and yes rights and lefts m pretty sure. They were reproduced and those have some value. Search past sales and see. I wish I had a drawer full of random parts like that hahahaha

It’s been debated before but my opinion is that there was never a scripted lever for the right hand. I’ve never seen an original one. They work on either side, of course, but obviously the script would be facing inward if mounted on the right.

The catalog images would have you believe otherwise. My assumption is simply advertising. All catalogs display the bike from its drive side so in order to showcase the lever feature, it was illustrated with it mounted on the right.

The earlier non scripted cast skinny lever, circa 40-51, did not pose this issue. If anyone has a parts catalog showing two separate scripted levers, one left and one right, please offer that up here.

Wolfmac, thank you for the photos of the missing parts... lots of different style bands in another drawer, more like old dia-compe or weinmann 10 spd style. But hey, a closer look is warranted then these might be of use to somebody.

If I'm looking at this correctly the bolt and spacer sits on the top of the lever bracket and the nut goes in the slot of the band, underneath the two underbent lips?
