@Wolfmac I seem to remember @cyclingday posting a photo of one his schwinns with this chainguard... but I may be getting my threads twisted again.

I'm not sure if this headbadge is Schwinn, but it fits perfectly and it's such a strange spacing too. I measured the bars too and they're definitely "widow/cali" bars. :) That ad sure helped, thank you!

I agree with California bars but not original to the bike. I thought that guard was only used in certain DXs? Lastly I don’t think that Duplex badge originated on the bike.

Thank you for the links sir. It looks like a member found a similar bicycle with the badge and bars on it and in the same color on Craigslist in 2015. Looks like that one had a sweetheart and this one has the web chainring. Very cool!!! I guess the badge is original and maybe the bars too. Thanks! :)

Super Cool Bike!
Just the way he inherited it.
Please don't make it another "Catalog" Schwinn.
More than just The "Ladies" prefer an "Erect" riding position, HA!

California bars are in all the 30's catalogs, you enough to ride them?
Found on this 1934 Huffman AIRFLYTE; dressed to ride.😎
you’re making me want to put the bars on my ‘35 Huffman. I’m trying to get out of the bike game sir, not fall back in love with it.
😂 😊😂

And don’t worry, if I decide to keep it, I will leave it as is. I really love them as they’re found. 🤙🤙

Well, there you have it;
the Bikes show otherwise... seems like love wont let go....
What are you gonna do?
What "Game" is replacing bikes?
Choose Wisely.

I'm in for "Scraps" you find and don't want anymore, lol.🥰

Walthour and Hood in Atlanta, Georgia was selling their bikes equipped with California Bars.
It seemed to be so popular in the South, that it always made me wonder why the Torrington company named them California bars?
Georgia Bar seemed to be more appropriate.😎
