Riding a '38 Autocycle Deluxe
Selling this nice 1941 Schwinn Henderson New World touring bike.
21-inch frame, 26 inch lightweight wheels.
This is the bike that came from the Martin's Bike Shop sale. It has a proper, pre-war front fork now. Bearings cleaned and re-greased. Large flange Schwinn single speed free wheel rear, Schwinn script front hubs. This is one of the cleanest large flange Schwinn freewheel hubs I've encountered. Rims are the pre-war hooked bead type and are in fair condition with some surface rust. Paint is pretty good with some carefully done touch-up black. Decals are still present but worn in typical condition for their age. Saddle is a leather tourist type and in decent shape for its age. Chrome is pretty good but not perfect. Grips are in good shape for their age. Has the nice, pre-war levers and brake calipers. Has a nice old glass rear reflector. Fenders are pretty good and not badly dented. Brake cables and housings have been replaced. Has new brake pads. Has a decent set of tourist pedals but they are from a later period. Wheels could use some final truing if you're going to ride this bike much, but they're not too bad overall as is. Tires are older touring type and probably should be replaced if you're going to ride it much.
Comes with an extra handlebar stem and an extra, old tube in case those can be useful to you. Also comes with an extra kickstand. I'll include the original Miller and the new Greenfield stand with the bike.
Overall, this is a nice, old Schwinn touring bike with an unusual Henderson headbadge for a New World. Vintage bike - sold as is. After 84 years, no warranty left on this one.
$300. Bike can be shipped by Bikeflights in the lower 48 states at buyer's additional expense, or picked up at no extra charge in Litchfield, Connecticut. No international shipping. Payment by cash on pick-up, Paypal, or USPS Money Order. If using Paypal, buyer is responsible for covering Paypal's fee.
