When there is a rare item (maybe a month or two of use) on a 60 year old bicycle it’s always satisfying to see another example surface.

Several weeks after I started this thread pertaining to the 1964 Stingray another thread was started that just happened to post a 1964 Lime J38 with an early SLIK.
Posted above I showed a “J4 Opal Violet” that used to be in my collection wearing the very first design SLIK used on the Stingrays.
The “J4 Flamboyant Lime” posted by another member has this very same 3rd 1/4 ‘64 dated SLIK ….. very cool.

To top it off, both these J4 (Sept. 64) Standards came from the same dealer (Dale’s) in Santa Rosa, Ca.

Man I’m not even sure I knew the SLIK was first put out late 64 with out the yellow oval. I have a WW slik chic oval slik.my dad had it for years. I’ve always said they should have used that on boys deluxe models. So crazy it was only used on 65 Slik chics

Tuki,
Nice Orange Cat in your avatar. We have one too.

The 3066W (Whitewall) Yellow Oval Slik was first offered on the New 1965 girls Stingray - Slik Chik.
The 1965 Schwinn consumer catalog shows an Opal Violet that was only available for the first two, maybe three months of ‘65.
This WW YOS was used for three years 65,66,67 on the Slik Chik.

I found a couple NOS versions many years ago that were manufactured by Goodyear tire company with the three circle date information and salmon colored inner casing.

Thanks. He’s gone now. It was rough still is. He was my paint shop cat.
I’ve just never seen a Slik with embossed letters. Only the yellow oval screened ones.

Follow-up verification from my post #11.

Another J4 that has the Early SLIK that’s not a Yellow Oval yet.
Red Super Deluxe with it’s OEM rear tire.
