1965 Schwinn Varsity Sport in Violet

I think the '64 Sierra still used the the Normandy hubs with the circular holes.

This FA Violet Varsity you recently acquired is gorgeous!!!
1965 was the last year for this type of Violet.

The way you detail a Schwinn is beyond compare.
I would like to see a nice Sprint saddle on this bike though.

Thanks for all of the great replies and comments. I do agree that a nice Sprint saddle would finish the bike. I have the original, but it is very cracked and neglected. I've been trying to save it with Proofide, but I think it is too far gone. If anyone has a minty Sprint saddle they want to part with, let me know. In the meantime I think the Brooks makes a nice place holder.

Here is another example of an Original paint FA (June ‘65) Violet.

Comparing Mike’s Varsity to my Original J38 Stingray.

As Chris states, the violet on the '65 Varsity is different than the violet on my '67 Varsity Tourist, with a '66 frame stamping. The Tourist has very tiny fleks in the paint which are hard to see unless the bike is in bright sunlight.

JMO, but I like the earlier ‘65 Violet better than the New paint with Bronze Flecks.
