Touring bike from a respected English maker. Mercian models are supposed to be distinguishable by lugs and other features, but they also made lots of custom bikes so I will not hazard a guess about the model. Paint is good for its age with no significant dents or rust detected. The nifty TA triple crankset coordinates aesthetically with the first generation Cyclone derailleurs. The very long wheelbase should mitigate the usual problem with toe strike on a very small frame with a full-size front wheel.
Seat tube is 48 cm CTC and top tube is 51 cm CTC.
Bike is in as found condition, has not been serviced. Everything seems functional but has not been test ridden due to lack of chain and pedals.
$450 plus actual shipping, not shipping outside the continental US at this time.
WITHDRAWN -- This bike is being refitted for local sale and the build has progressed to where I do not wish to put it back the way it was.
Campagnolo headset
TA triple crankset, no pedals (may require French threading)
First generation Cyclone derailleurs and Suntour levers
Atax stem with Sakae flared rando bars
Diacompe Aero brake levers and Gran Compe calipers
Laprade seatpost with later gel saddle
27” wheels have Campagnolo high-flange hubs with mismatched rims
Tires do not hold air
This bike is offered by the Rusty Spoke bicycle collective in Phoenix.
