Of the various Bridgestone bicycles, the XO-1 probably most represented Grant Petersen's approach to versatile frame design. They're good frames and worth saving. They make good commuters if you need one. The stock mustache bars were controversial at the time it came out.

I’ve started hanging some parts on the frame. The headbadge always seems to fall off on these so I proactively ripped it off and replaced it with a Bridgestone decal.

You can see by 93 they were trying to mitigate damages from the bad reviews of the mustache bars by offering a plethora of resting spots including dummy levers and these green Nitto branded rubber inserts.

These were well thought out frames, very versatile - room for fenders, carriers, bags, etc. Looks like a good bike.

The local shop did a great job getting everything tuned up! Late last week a friend sent me these big 2.3 Compass Rat Trap Pass tires that he used on his Bridgestone MB-1. They're pretty neat - very comfy and light. I also sourced some Ritchey Logic cantilever brakes.

Next up is riding it and fine-tuning/adjusting things to preference but so far I'm very happy with it!

Been pretty happy with this rig. Recent changes have been the Onza straddle cable yokes, re-installing the original headbadge and returning to the Panasonic tires. The Rene Herse tires went to a friend of mine who refreshed an old Cannondale MTB into an "X bike".
