Interesting stuff and bikes! Lots of stronglight and drillium cranks if you’re building a bomber. Mostly 1960s-70s lightweight stuff. Lots of color coordinated frame pumps too. I left with way too many chrome brake levers….

Really wish I had the time to go get too many things I don’t need 😁🤙

Kool old school shop
I was good friends with a mechanic there
Henri the Hippy
He got me into Klunking when he was at Valencia Cyclery prior to American Cyclery
Wonder how he’s doing these days

My first visit there was back in 1988.... Gene was the owner.. The basement was still loaded with alot
of very good old stuff...But had been thoroughly picked by Leedy? I think...and maybe Castelli...
I'm sure others some years prior. Was still able to find some gems in a vast basement area.
Even when Bradley took ownership... I took a road trip up there with Chicago cycling legend Ted Ernst
and Bradley was very generous and fair...and we load up the van.
good times!

Hope that shop always remains Cycles

I’ve been in that Basement a few times , killer stuff down there lotsa road stuff & vintage imports around 2007 & later
My pal Henri retired from that shop after about 7 years but put in maybe 25 years at Valencia Cyclery in the Mission District prior to American Cyclery I’ve been in that basement & back rooms too early 80s & up contemporary stuff there
But my pal Henri his basement at home was a hoard beyond the imagination he was a Schwinn man mostly prewar
Musta been close to 100 complete bikes in there , He had skills complete Bendix 2 sp teardown clean & rebuild in like under 15 minutes
He had a hoard on small parts for any hub
