Anyone know how to clean old grips without damaging them?

Goof off eats vinyl, do not let these grips soak in it!
Maybe use it to remove paint spots, but even then, be careful with solvents on plastic/vinyl.

soak in bleach then use a toothbrush to clean/ Dont brush teeth with the same toothbrush.

It really amazes me that people actually use a toothbrush for cleaning bike parts. Go to the dollar store and buy a damn brush for crying out loud!

Sometimes a soft bristle brush is better than a stiff one. At least that's what she said.

Personally I use tooth brushes because I get a new one for “free” every 6 months so my old one finds its way into the garage lol

I have a box full of NOS toothbrushes from the dentist and I'll put them up on DOND so you can save $300 a year with your visit getting only one for free. Only thing I use them for is cleaning my watch bands.

Or you could get a 12 yr supply of these for 12 bucks or less.

Toothbrushes fit inside of the grips, that may sometimes need a little scrubbing.

I soaked these in a mixture of 409 all-purpose cleaner and warm water (about 80/20) for about 24 hours and then massaged them with a medium bristle toothbrush (sorry @GTs58).

Poor some on a rag and wipe them down, then wash with soap and water! Took under 5 minutes and hurt nothing! Do it all the time and has never melted anything! Just my experience…..
