I thought I had added the picture to my post above but I guess I messed up.

Looking at these earlier models, I would guess that dad restored one of them.

Dad is an accountant. I can assure you that Dad didn’t restore it;). Both parents still alive and they are pretty sure it came from a box store that year.

I appreciate all the help. I was traveling all day yesterday so tonight I’ll keep looking in the directions you guys gave me.

The straight lower twin tubes are give aways along with the guard they are German/Austria Built imports. There have been a few of these lately mentioned on the Cabe. Some of these were labeled Executive (one on Ebay now) The 60’s vintage ones were lug construction and the later ones in the 70’s were not. I spent a ridiculous amount of time researching these bikes. @juvela was instrumental in helping and I actually finally found a couple. My first one was labelled Brillant and sold through McLeods Hardware in Western Canada. The second one is labelled Hawthorne. Since this search I have become a bike junky like a lot of others here :) fun little bikes with great lines and very light compared to a Schwinn.
In a nut shell: Scheuer company of New York was an importer/distributor of bicycles and not a manufacturer. Their offerings show up in chainstores rather than cycle shops as far back as 1931
