Cherry Bicycles Cherry Bomb Single Speed Mountain Bike
Cherry Bicycles Cherry Bomb single speed, made by John Cherry in the late 80s. I chatted with John about this bike, and he confirmed it was one of the first two mountain bike frames he made, owned and rode himself until he sold it. John said the tubing is mixed Columbus & possibly Deadicciai; he liked to use different tubing during the development process. The frame measures 16" center to center on the seat mast and 22" for the top tube. The cranks are nice White Industries ENO's with a new 32t chainwheel. The pedals are new Crank Brothers platforms. The wheels are 26 x 1.50 Araya 7x rims laced to White Industries ENO hubs; the rear hub is the ENO eccentric, the freewheel is a new White Industries blue ring. Tires are brand new, House of Looptail Competition Deuce blackwall with one ride around the block on them. The fork is a 1" threaded Answer Accutrax held in place by a silver Chris King Grip Nut headset. The brakes and brake levers are new Paul Components. The handlebars are new Nitto risers for added comfort, and the stem is a nice Salsa 80mm in great original condition. The seat post is a new Thomson as it is ridden around the city. I also have an extra decal set that I can include if a deal is made. This is a great riding, unique boutique-made lightweight bike! Search Cherry Bicycles for more brand history. John Cherry is still around and was very receptive and answered all of my questions about the bike. I'm also open to reasonable offers.$1,400.00 picked up in Long Beach, CA. I will ship for $110.00 if a deal is made outside of local pickup.
