Looks like it is coming along and going to make a beautiful bike for the wife. My father fought and was wounded in WWII, and these bikes that were ridden to work by the “Rosie the Riviters” and men also not in the war, have a special place in my thoughts.

Thanks a lot, she will hopefully enjoy it! These VG bikes were used by civilians and service members alike during the crunch of the 40s. Photos of both have come to light as well as an interesting converted victory bike. Search "Bayonne" on the forum to see what I'm talking about.

After living it's senior years as a rusted, neglected old hag - this VG bike is finally getting her well deserved makeover.

It is now painted blue with most of it's blacked out steel components re-installed.

Graphics, pinstriping and fender accents will be next then clear coat to finish. Lots of small details as well getting the wheel set refurbished and in rubber.

This is my 42 . The blue paint is original. The wheels and handle bars I painted. I have the original blued Torrington 8s but they need some work. The wheels are almost exactly the same color as they were originally. It still had war tires on it but they were totally junk and rock hard. Your’s looks like an awesome project. If you have any questions or want pictures of something please reach out.
