Do you ride expensive and correctly restored bicycles?

Yes! While not an "expensive" bike, priceless to me. My childhood newspaper delivery route bike from the 60's. (1950 built Schwinn D-12 I purchased used back then.) Hung in my parents basement for 50+ years. I finally restored it during the pandemic and took the first (reunion) ride Memorial Day 2021. Memories! One of my most enjoyable things to do in the summer now. And it brought me into the hobby and the CABE.

Seems like a no-brainer, but....... I hope it never gets to the point of vintage cars that are trailered to shows, started & driven 'the loop' (if that) and mirrors stuck under the body to show restoration details. I'd like to take my original '62 M-43 and drive over the top of them. But, I'm told I might get into more trouble.......

I like well preserved bikes with original history and souls. Ride em like I stole em. Like a way back when machine. I think about who may have ridden the bike in its past as I fly away.
So much diversity in taste amongst the Cabers keeps it interesting reading ! Amazing hobby and so glad I found you all.

The people you pass seem to enjoy the restored ones more. Once you’ve lubed everything and have good tires and tubes on them, you can’t tell any difference so give some pleasure to someone else.
