Presented here for auction is a wonderful 1890s Hunt Hygienic Model X men's saddle manufactured by the Hunt Manufacturing Company in Westboro, Massachusetts. Designed as a health and comfort-focused seat for both men (Model X) and women (Model XX), it features a distinctive profile and an open center relief. Saddle top measures 11" x 8 1/2" and the saddle features strands of belt-lace leather carefully woven through a wooden cantle as a framework that connects the forward with the rear portion of the saddle. The ventilated cover is made up of a thickness of felt, covered with a nicely finished soft leather worn to an attractive, rich chestnut color. These certainly don't pop up every day and I'm not looking to give it away. A very nice original specimen for your early men's bicycle. Thank you for your interest, and good luck.
