Harding badged bikes were imported to Los Angeles by Westwood Cyclery in the 1970s. Internet commentators have suggested that these bikes were contract-built by Holdsworth with similarities to the Professional frame of the period. Bike Forums rabbit hole thread here. The serial number and other features of this bike are consistent with the commentary and consistent with a 1971 Holdsworth contract build per the Dave Scrimshaw database.
Friends of Charlie Harding and Holdsworth experts invited to share knowledge because it makes the bike even more special.
Seat tube is 60 cm CTC and top tube is 57.5 cm CTC. Probably a full 531 frame and fork but decals are gone. Loads of patina but no dents and no significant rust. Bike is in as found condition, has not been serviced or divested of valuable parts. Bearings feel good. 27” wheels spin straight and tires hold air but are very dry. Rode very nicely on short test rides with a substitute 700 wheelset, 35 mm Paselas spin but are verrry tight at the seat stay bridge.
$425 $400 plus actual shipping, not willing to consider parting out, not shipping outside the continental United States at this time.
Campagnolo 170mm crankset date coded 1973
Campagnolo 1973 rear derailleur
Campagnolo headset
Campagnolo front derailleur and shifters
Atax stem with Phillipe bars (came with oversize newer Cinelli bars but the brake levers didn't fit)
Campagnolo brake levers and calipers
Campagnolo hubs with 27” Weinmann rims
Campagnolo seatpost with hard Arius Sport saddle
