Finally finished 1970 Super Sport.

I started this in 2012, it was a nice original bike that needed freshened up. I had the wheels relaced with stainless spokes (never cared for the zinc plated ones) and cleaned/rebuilt the rest. I had a death (my late wife), a move and 2 different storage situations in the middle. I also lost my drive for projects. Working on getting back to more, so will post them as I finish.

Looks great! I found one this winter, started a post about it. I do ride it around town. Mine is a brown 71 Super Sport.

Hello, I found this 71 brown Super Sport on an online auction nearby. I did go for a preview because the pics were terrible, I found it very dirty but complete. I did speak to the owner and she said her husband had bought it 25 years ago, and had never ridden it, it was parked in a backyard shed all that time. I got it bought and brought it home, the tires aired right up, the brakes work as they should, rims seem to spin true. I lowered the seat to fit me, it has a 24" frame which is right at my max. I only rode it a little bit inside our Fire Station, seems to ride good.
I just washed it...

Beautiful bike, welcome back. I remember being in Jr High and wanting a Super Sport and happy that I had a older violet varsity. Just something about those chrome forks. Enjoy the ride, great job.

Every time I see a different color SuperSport...I want a different color SuperSport!! Lol

Not sure if it's the quality of the of the paint or the way the light hits the fillet brazed joints that catches my eye....
