Mr. Harding's holdings an endless stream of wonderful treasures.

Cycles Fonlupt is a French cycle marque.

Founded 1920 by Alfred-Jacques Fonlupt in the town of La Clayettte, which is in the province of Saone et Loire.

Both pedal cycles and motorcycles were produced.

Here is a rendering of the original usine:

as it appeared in the 1920's

when company grew and required larger quarters this venue was retained and turned into a museum with family & company historical treasures on display

sadly, it was subsequently destroyed by fire with all lost

Charlie's example -

some obvious quality details

bottom bracket assembly; note how spindle is either hollow or very deeply counterbored

chainguard is cast aluminum; when cycles are fitted with an aluminum chainguard it is about 99% of the time stamped sheet

pedals are Lyotard model Nr. 25

LYOTARD pedal catalogue page 1936-37 .jpg

[catalogue page of 1937]

pump pegs are NERVEX Ref. 845

stem/bar set appears it may be Centrix

Centrix advert of 1952 .jpg

brakes may be JEAY or Beborex (guess)

looks to hail from second half of nineteen thirties

may be able to give further information as additional images added

another inquiry on the cycle begun here -

have been working on removing and cleaning a Specialties TA 1500 Criterium off a derailleur demonstrator so haven't gotten back for better pictures on the frames I posted, this Fonlupt - or the Gillott with another Criterium crank set. But will do so in the future
