For sale: Schwinn february 1966 black sting-ray fastback bike - early serial #

SOLD: February 1966 Schwinn Sting-Ray 5-speed Fastback. (Serial # BBxxxxx) First year model for the Fastback. Bike is all original with the exception of the decals on the shifter cover and the seat and sissy bar on the bike. The seat is the correct one for the bike which is a deep tufted silver glitter seat but it is not the seat that came on the bike. When found this bike did not have its original seat or sissy bar. Now the sissy bar may be original to the bike, but I can't say for sure. It came with the bike when I bought it the first time around. It is the correct bar with the higher angle top loop and does have wear that matches the rest of the bike. All I added back then was the seat. At one time this was the one of the earliest complete Fastbacks to surface among the muscle bike collectors that were into Fastbacks. Most early Fastbacks that I have seen surface in the past have been March 1966 and later so this is a rare opportunity to get a super early bike. This is a used bike that has character marks on it from many years of use but it was used not abused and is definitely not worth repainting due to how rare it is as well as it's nice original condition. Some unique early parts original to this bike are the non-Chicago head badge and the 1965 dated crank.

I owned the bike along time ago and bought it back to try to trade for a black Schwinn The Sting BMX bike, but had no luck so I have no need to keep it. Pick up in Northern NJ is welcome but I will glady ship as well. Shipping will be done via FedEx. I only charge what FedEx takes to get it from me to you, and NEVER charge for time or packing materials.

Thanks Rob. Back when I first bought this bike, I was also able to buy a Dec 67 all original Orange Krate from the same person. It was amazing that this guy had only two bikes in his possession and they were both early bikes.

Nice one, that is a rare one for sure. I have an all original March 1966 violet fastback that I have had for quite awhile, my birth year of coarse, and in super nice condition. The black and the violet are real desirable, especially the early one's with the sprint sprocket. GLWS!
