This year, in conjunction with the George St. Challenge ride, the 7 Hills Wheelmen are sponsoring a Bike Swap and Info Fair!
The swap is open to anyone who wants to sell cycling related items - used, new, crafty. The info fair is open to cycling, transportation and social justice groups (Major Taylor fought racial and social discrimination his entire life and career).
Registration for the swap and fair will happen through our events' BikeReg page:

What: George Street Challenge Bike Swap and Fair!
When: Sunday, July 27th, 9am to 1pm
Where: Downtown Worcester - North end of Main St. between George st and the Major Taylor Museum
Vendors: 10x20 spaces are $20 (limit 20)
Tabling: Free 10x10 spaces available for bike, transportation and social justice groups (limit 20)
Each year, over 100 riders accept the George st. Challenge and line up to test themselves on the very street Major Taylor used for training on his way to winning his World Title in 1899. It’s one rider at a time against the clock. The distance is 500 feet and the average grade is 18 percent. The contest is open to riders age 12 and up. Helmets are required and the entry fee is $20. https://sevenhillswheelmen.org/george-street-bike-challenge/
Three blocks from George st. is the Major Taylor museum - www.majortaylormuseum.org. We are working to set up spaces between George st. and the museum for vendors.
It's pretty open on Main st. Unfortunately, we don't have any tents to loan. But, we will have people on hand to help you put up yours if you need it. It's our desire to enable the swap vendors to keep a vehicle next to their booth.
As we get further along, we'll be able to provide more details. At the moment, we are looking at the following time schedule -
8am - streets closed
8-9am - vendors and info booths set up
8:30am - registration opens
10 - 12ish racing
12:30 ish - awards and raffle
1ish - cleanup
2 - streets are opened.
Hope to see you there!
