Finally riding a big boys bike
I would appreciate any info on this old Elgin, Year, model, do the wheels and tires go to it? I assume they do as they have the same repaint as some of the bike but can't figure why they were taken apart and the hubs put back on the frame?? MANY THANKS in advance. I don't mind talking so PC for my number. If I try to respoke the wheels, metal clad wood, is there a primer anywhere to show me how

28" wheels go on it..........possibly Elgin Cardinal but no tank unless markings / scratches where if / it mounted on top tube. Really not a bad start. Some WD40 and 000 steel wool might wake up the paint a little.

Very cool find, you'll want the longest spoke ripples you can find and you should poach the galvanized spokes from a 70s wheelset.(i was given the advice by an old head) The New departure model C rear hub is kinda crusty looking so once you get it loose I highly recommend a rebuild. Theres a few exploded views online you can track down and it shouldn't be that had to do. Have fun with it!
