Here is another Schwinn Bicycle Company Production Date Codes / Chart for Bicycle Tires from 1974.
Goodyear & Carlisle ... No Uniroyal Tires, production ended 1971.
When was Goodyear bicycle tire production ended? ... Somewhere in the early 1970's?
Carlisle acquired the US Royal, Uniroyal bicycle Tire Molds that were commissioned by Schwinn and with their bicycle tires started a *New Tire Code using the UU (##) # sometime in the late '70's around 1978 as Carlisle ended all USA bicycle Tire production in 1987.

The Goodyear Tire Code states a "NB" is New Bedford & a Maximum of three circles, with a twelve year cycle. Were early Goodyears dated with the "NB" and Circles, I guess it depends on the period of tire?

I have a couple NOS 16" Schwinn Superior tires The casting marks on the tires say UU 2 0 1 and UU 11 8 1. I'm assuming the UU is U.S. Rubber. When did they stop making tires? I'm trying to figure out whether the first tire is February 1970 or 1980 and whether the other tire is November 1968 or 1978. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

need pictures of the tires

Thank you for the information @coasterbrakejunkie1969. How do the earlier tires differ in appearance from the late 70's tires? I also have a pair of Schwinn Whitewall Knobby tires. One tire has larger letters than the other. The tire with the larger Schwinn letters says 6 2. There is no C in front of it. The tire with the smaller letters says C 7 1 4. I can get pictures of those tires if it will help.

It is stated by Kool bikes the UU marking started in the late '70s for one thing. It is also my understanding that the mold lines running from the bead all the way up the side wall onto the tread was also from the second decade of production. I'm still not 100% sure that is true but I will get picks of my 1970 tire later. Some guys would never put the wrong date tire on their bikes. I believe any bike that has been used well and shows wear would most likely have replacement tires. I have noticed on my Stingrays that did not have the original dated tires but correct type often had a date 3/4 years after the bike date. I guess on average that is how long it was taking kids to wear out the tires and had them replaced with new tires. I know some kids were doing power skids constantly could go through as tire in a summer. Those kids didn't have my dad telling to cut it out because we were not getting new tires any time soon, which caused me to skid selectively haha

Those are really nice tires you can put on a bike and ride worry free for years, also if you have them on a older bike you don't have to worry about killing an original date matched tires. I actually keep a few correct date tires in case I let the bikes go.
