Tall

Look Ma, No Hands!
Interesting 1897 letter from a young woman Almont Stewart, who was presumably a typist/stenographer in the Miami Cycle office in Middletown, OH. I believe she worked there during the 1896-98 period. She wrote to Mattie McNabb asking her about her schooling plans. Seemingly, both young ladies wanted to attend Ohio Wesleyan to study at the music conservatory but both were on a budget. Miss Stewart is basically asking Miss McNabb if she wanted to combine expenses so they both could afford to attend. I do not believe either of the ladies attended school there. Miss McNabb died in 1898. So, here is a letter of a personal nature on the Miami Cycle Racycle letter head with Miss Stewart using the Miami Cycle office as her return address. The letter is two sided with examples of their 1897 Racycle model offerings on the back.
