Lokking For Information

My question may not qualify for this forum but here goes. I am looking at a 1983 Raleigh Kodiak Touring bike. I talked to owner and he is getting serial number for me and where bike was made. I am hoping it is made in the good ol USA. Any way I am planning on making this a medium to heavy duty touring bike and was wondering if any one on here can share some information,experience about the quality of the bike,how it rides,etc. etc.

Most likely made in Taiwan. Most of the Raleigh USA bikes were made off shore. Pictures and serial numbers would help. Roger
