Thanks for the info Wes. I live in Newark,DE. My mom was from Paint Creek. She came to Elkton,MD and met my dad. Twenty five years latter, he retired from the Air Force with eight kids and came back home. I graduated from Elkton, then moved to Newark and got married. After fifty eight years, she (Anne) still puts up with me. I'm like a kid that worships almost anything with wheels! I called Joe Carola about the newsletter. Waiting to hear back. I got his number from Ray Spangler-Great Guy! Ray sent me some stuff that is really helping me with my old Whizzer. I can't wait to start getting the newsletter.

I thought I would post a couple of pictures showing where I'm at with my project Whizzer. I haven't given my bike a name yet. She hasn't made me mad enough yet! LOL.

I'm not too good at posting yet. You can see I reupholstered the seat in soft Corinthian leather-then painted it tan! With extra padding too! The wheels looked so bad, I couldn't stand it, so I painted them and out on new WW's and thornproof tubes. Looks a lot better. I held off painting the whole bike until I got the hang of riding it. I got the engine on today, but will do pictures tomorrow-it's bedtime for Bonzo.

I finally got my first ride today! YAY! It took a few part time days to get the drive system and belt tension close enough to operate. It was a little shaky getting this 100lb bike up and out of my basement entrance. I put fresh oil and some ZDDP in it (just a little), and some fresh gas in the tank. I did get to drive it about six blocks. I also found that my sheave is not centered on the rear wheel. I had replaced three spokes that were bad and tried to true the wheel. Didn't do a great job with that either. Critical stuff with a Whizzer I found out. Today (Sunday), it's a liitle too cold for me to fiddle with it and it's too heavy to wrestle back downstairs.Next coule of days will be warmer. I'm not fond of twenty degree days anymore. After I get it a little easier to start (belt slippage), I'll play with the carb adjustments and try to make it reliable. I love how easy the engine starts though.
