Hello,
Anyone have information on Nishiki serial numbers? I have a Comp 2 and would like to know the year. Thank you in advance.

serial indicates a cycle produced by Kawamura for the U.S. market in 1980

the seraphed W symbol is for West Coast Cycle Supply Co. of Los Angeles, California, creator of the Nishiki marque

the "seraphs" are actually intended to form letter C's, the left one being backwards

hence the symbol is intended to be read as "WCC" for West Coast Cycle

this page has much of interest on the history of West Coast Cycle Supply Co. and its founder Howie Cohen -

some of the firm's other owned badges include American Eagle, Azuki & Premium
