Yeah, disappointed but no biggy.
But really, the idea of all those rural mail order bikes being horded into one place is....
Shall I say, disconcerting. 🫤

Never worth getting worked up about but I’m with you it would have been an adventure not a burden. Lots of talk about how to keep this thing we all do alive and growing takes guys like you and I going into places like this. You know all it would take out of that place is one good bike or frame to make it worth while. Also lots of talk about how collectible bikes are getting harder to find , why would you not take a chance. I take 90 shots to play 18 holes of golf. I hit maybe a dozen exactly as I wanted. I don’t dwell on the 80 others and I still keep playing.

Anyone else notice the Sasquatch footprint in second photo?

So the phone rings at 11am. It's a guy I didn't talk to before, asking if I want to make an appointment to go take a look at the bikes and stuff.
I asked him if anyone else has already gone through everything and he tells me two guys were there all-day yesterday.

I just said; "Then I won't be interested in looking, thanks anyway. That wasn't what I talked with your partner about."

He was obviously dumbfounded, stumbling for words, but I just said thanks anyway and hung up.
I damn sure am not following two bike guys that spent all day. I bet I know them and will soon be hearing about their scores.

Oh well.

The joke is on the guy trying to get rid of all that stuff if he is letting people cherry pick. Were it me, I'd sell the good stuff at a discount, but require the buyers to take all the other stuff with them too. I can see with that collection someone owning the property and saying "I want all this stuff gone...".

Exactly.
I'm not sure how things got bent around but I initially schmoozed by presenting a plan and strategy to do exactly that. I mentioned EXACTLY what you said and even had a plan for the unsalable in the end as part of my deal.
