The photographer was based in Montreal. There are too many sporty clubs called "Carpe Diem" to sort through quickly. A neat piece!

I'm not understanding the date of1878, even though copied in 1885, with the high wheel bicycle at the left of the adult tricycle having cross spoke pattern which was developed in the mid 1880's and the adult tricycle usually not around in America not appearing until about 1884.

The date is on their banner, so I thought it was the year the club was founded. With all those mustaches, it sure looks like the mid 1880s to me.
